Overview
The government is currently seeking dedicated and reliable Cleaners to support the maintenance of public buildings and facilities across all provinces. This opportunity is open to suitably qualified applicants who are willing to work in a structured environment and contribute to clean, safe, and hygienic workplaces.
Monthly Salary
Estimated Salary Range: R6,500 – R9,500 per month
Salary will be determined by department, experience, and shift allocation.
Job Description
Cleaners will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in government offices, clinics, schools, and other public facilities. The role requires attention to detail, physical fitness, and the ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily cleaning of offices, corridors, restrooms, and common areas
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
Clean windows, walls, and surfaces
Dispose of waste according to regulations
Replenish cleaning supplies such as soap and paper towels
Follow health and safety rules at all times
Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
Requirements
Minimum Grade 9 or ABET qualification
Ability to read and understand basic instructions
Good physical health and stamina
No criminal record
Previous cleaning experience will be an advantage but is not required
South African citizen or legally eligible to work in South Africa
Working Shifts
Morning Shift: 07:00 – 15:30
Afternoon Shift: 13:00 – 21:30
Night Shift (where applicable): 21:00 – 05:00
Shifts may vary depending on department needs.
