About the General Kitchen Assistant Position
The General Kitchen Assistant supports the daily food production process by assisting with food preparation, packaging, labelling, storage, stock handling, and dispatch operations. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Wash, peel, cut and prepare ingredients.
- Assist chefs and production staff.
- Maintain high food hygiene standards.
- Follow HACCP food safety procedures.
- Support daily production targets.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Assist with stock rotation using FIFO and FEFO methods.
Packing, Labelling and Storage
- Label finished products accurately.
- Pack products according to company standards.
- Seal products correctly.
- Store products in chilled, frozen or ambient storage.
- Monitor storage temperatures.
- Maintain product quality and traceability.
Dispatch Duties
- Prepare customer orders for dispatch.
