Available Positions and Responsibilities
Forklift Drivers
Forklift Drivers are essential to the smooth operation of Makro’s warehouses. Responsibilities include:
- Operating forklifts safely to move stock and goods
- Loading and unloading delivery trucks
- Organizing warehouse inventory efficiently
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations
- Reporting any operational issues to supervisors
Minimum Requirements:
- South African ID
- Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred but not always required)
- High level of attention to safety
- Ability to work shifts and weekends
Salary: Competitive warehouse-based pay depending on experience
Cashiers
Cashiers are the frontline of Makro’s customer experience. Responsibilities include:
- Processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handling cash, card, and electronic payments
- Assisting customers with inquiries
- Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area
Minimum Requirements:
- South African ID
- Grade 9–12
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Salary: R4,500 – R6,500 per month
Shelf Packers
Shelf Packers ensure that Makro’s stores remain stocked, organized, and visually appealing. Responsibilities include:
- Stocking shelves with products according to company guidelines
- Assisting in inventory checks and organization
- Supporting warehouse and store operations
- Reporting any stock shortages or product issues
Minimum Requirements:
- South African ID
- Grade 9 or higher
- Ability to lift and move products safely
- Reliable and hardworking
Salary: R5,000 – R7,000 per month
