About the Security Controller Position
The Security Controller will be responsible for supervising security operations at the site and ensuring that security procedures are properly implemented.
The successful candidate will play an important role in loss prevention, incident response, access control, high-risk stock protection and security reporting.
The position requires an experienced security professional who understands the retail environment and can work effectively with store management, security personnel and other stakeholders.
CCTV monitoring is conducted off-site, meaning this position focuses primarily on on-site response, coordination and operational control.
Minimum Requirements

Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- PSIRA Grade B or Grade A accreditation
- Must be PSIRA registered
- At least 2 years’ retail security experience
- Experience working in a shopping mall environment
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and incident reporting
- Knowledge of access control and loss prevention
- Experience with client liaison
- Experience with daily operational reporting
- Experience using digital security systems
- Knowledge of electronic incident reporting systems
- Experience with dashboards and case-tracking systems
- Knowledge of POPIA, particularly when handling CCTV footage and personal information
- Ability to prepare written statements and handle evidence
- Courtroom readiness, including statement writing and evidence handling
Advantageous Requirements
