Available Positions and Responsibilities

Customer Assistants

Customer Assistants are the backbone of Ackermans’ customer service. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting customers with product selections and inquiries
  • Maintaining clean and organized sales floors
  • Supporting stock replenishment and displays
  • Ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African ID
  • Grade 10 or higher
  • Friendly and professional attitude
  • Ability to work retail hours including weekends

Salary: R4,500 – R6,000 per month

Cashiers

Cashiers play a key role in providing a smooth checkout experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately processing customer transactions
  • Handling cash, card, and electronic payments
  • Assisting customers with queries and returns
  • Maintaining a clean and efficient checkout area

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African ID
  • Grade 10 or higher
  • Attention to detail and good numeracy skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment

Salary: R4,500 – R6,500 per month

Shelf Packers

Shelf Packers help ensure products are available and presented neatly to customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Stocking shelves according to company standards
  • Organizing stock rooms and displays
  • Assisting with inventory checks and reporting shortages
  • Supporting store operations as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African ID
  • Grade 9 or higher
  • Physically able to lift and move products
  • Reliable and hardworking

Salary: R5,000 – R7,000 per month
