About the Opportunity

The Department of Economic Development is inviting qualifying applicants to apply for the Cleaner position under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness within Opportunity Centres, providing general support, and assisting with basic hospitality tasks during meetings and training sessions.

No prior experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking entry-level employment.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 10
  • Grade 12 would be an advantage
  • No experience required
  • Primary Function
  • The Cleaner will perform a variety of duties including:
  • Cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing surfaces
  • Ensuring floors and common areas remain clean and hygienic
  • Emptying dustbins regularly
  • Preparing and serving beverages during meetings, workshops, and training sessions
  • Supporting the general upkeep of the Opportunity Centre

  • Execute daily cleaning tasks within the Opportunity Centre
  • Assist with beverage preparation and serving
  • Provide general office support as required
