About the Role
Government Landscape Workers are responsible for maintaining public parks, government buildings, recreational facilities, and other state-managed spaces. These roles contribute to keeping communities clean, safe, and environmentally sustainable.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 certificate or equivalent
- Basic knowledge or experience working as a General Worker or Landscape Assistant
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors
- Ability to work in a team
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to follow instructions and safety procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Mowing lawns and trimming grass
- Planting flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Watering and maintaining plants
- Removing weeds and garden waste
- Cleaning and maintaining public spaces
- Assisting with irrigation systems
- Operating basic gardening tools and equipment
- Reporting hazards or maintenance issues
Working Conditions
- Fixed-term contract (typically 12–18 months depending on project)
- Working hours: 08h00 to 16h00
- Six working days per week
- Outdoor work environment
