Job Requirements

• Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Urology.
• Current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Urology.
• No experience is required after registration with the HPCSA.

Key Duties

• Provide consultant-led specialist urological care.
• Manage complex elective and emergency urological conditions.
• Conduct inpatient consultations, outpatient clinics, and operative services.
• Undertake and supervise diagnostic and therapeutic urological procedures.
• Ensure safe perioperative planning and postoperative follow-up.
• Coordinate timely referral of cases requiring higher-level services.
• Lead multidisciplinary clinical decision-making and support effective theatre utilization.
• Supervise and teach registrars, medical officers, interns, and undergraduate students.
• Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, clinical audits, and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to departmental research and other administrative responsibilities.
