Security CCTV Controller

Job Purpose

The Control Centre CCTV Operator will be responsible for ensuring the effective monitoring of all cameras, promptly identifying and responding to security incidents, and maintaining a secure environment. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to make quick and informed decisions. Experience with Eocortex and Axis will be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Emergency Response:
  • Contact emergency providers as required.
  • Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders during incidents.
• Incident Response:
  • Respond promptly to security incidents by assessing the situation and taking appropriate action.
  • Coordinate with security personnel and responders to address potential threats or breaches.
  • Maintain detailed incident logs and provide accurate and timely reports to appropriate authorities.
• System Maintenance:
  • Conduct regular checks on surveillance equipment, alarm systems, and monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Report any malfunctions or irregularities to the designated technical support team and Control Centre manager.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and responses.
  • Generate detailed reports for management summarizing daily activities and incidents.
• Surveillance Monitoring:
  • Operate and monitor CCTV systems, including Exocortex and Axis, to ensure continuous observation of designated areas.
  • Detect and analyze suspicious activities or security breaches through surveillance cameras.

Requirements

• Candidates must reside in the Somerset West, Strand, or Stellenbosch areas.
• Effective communication in Afrikaans and English is essential.
• Working hours will be from 17h00 to 05h00.
• Candidates should ensure sober habits.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum PSIRA grade C security qualification.
• 2 years of control room experience and 2 years of CCTV experience are required.
• If residing in the Eersteriver areas, candidates must have their own transport.
