Production Process Controller

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is inviting applications for the position of Production Process Controller. Job Description

The Production Process Controller is responsible for monitoring and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently and according to company quality standards. The role includes production monitoring, quality inspections, operational reporting, process optimisation and collaboration with production teams to achieve operational targets.

This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to respond quickly to production challenges while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Minimum Requirements

  • NQF Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Production Technology or a related field.
  • Certificate in Manufacturing Management, Quality Control or Process Technology will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of two to three years’ experience in FMCG production or bottling operations.
  • Experience in production monitoring, process control or high-speed manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of quality control systems and production reporting.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system will be advantageous.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, ISO and SHEQ standards.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.

  • Monitor production parameters including temperatures, pressures, fill levels and production speeds.
  • Adjust production settings to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure production activities comply with planned schedules.
  • Identify and report production deviations promptly.

Quality Assurance

  • Perform routine quality inspections throughout the production process.
  • Monitor packaging quality, fill volumes and product integrity.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO and food safety requirements.

Operational Support

  • Respond to equipment alarms and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Assist technical teams in resolving production-related issues.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Production Documentation

  • Complete production checklists and operational reports.
  • Maintain accurate downtime records.
  • Capture SAP production transactions.
  • Record material usage and reconciliation information.
  • Support shift reporting activities.

Teamwork and Communication

  • Work closely with Operators, Process Artisans, Forklift Drivers and Team Leaders.
  • Participate in shift handovers and operational meetings.
  • Promote effective communication across production teams.

Safety and Housekeeping

  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Identify and report unsafe working conditions.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards using 5S principles.
  • Promote a safe and productive working environment.
