About the Position
The General Worker role is mainly focused on keeping recreation centres, libraries and related facilities clean, safe and ready for public use.
Successful candidates will be responsible for basic cleaning, facility preparation, refuse removal, outdoor maintenance and supporting events held at municipal facilities. This role is important because community facilities must remain clean, welcoming and safe for residents, visitors and staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform general work duties at recreation centres, libraries and related facilities.
Responsibilities include:
Keeping facilities clean and tidy at all times
Vacuuming carpets and cupboards
Cleaning furniture and equipment
Removing refuse to support hygiene and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Cleaning paved and tarmac surfaces
Preparing specialised turfgrass areas when required
Cleaning and watering flowerbeds
Raking grass clippings from lawns
Preparing facilities and equipment for functions and events
Removing and storing furniture and equipment after events
Reporting damage, faults and defects to the line manager
Following safety regulations and workplace procedures
