#695 Security Officer – Grade B (Franschhoek)

TSU Protection Services is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Security Officer at one of our sites in Franschhoek. Our mission is to maintain excellent working conditions by ensuring the safety and security of our facilities.

Role Overview

The Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring and protecting the premises, ensuring a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. The ideal candidate should inspire respect and authority while exhibiting a high level of observation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
• Manage access control, monitoring and authorizing entrance of vehicles and people.
• Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.
• Secure all exits, doors, and windows after end of operations.
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
• Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions.
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
• Provide assistance to individuals in need.
• Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol until authorities arrive.
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade B – Psira registered and up to date.
• Completed Grade 12.
• Able to communicate in both English and Afrikaans (written and verbal).
• Physically fit – able to stand/walk for long hours.
• Neat and presentable appearance.
• Clear criminal record.
• Must pass all recruitment checks, including aptitude tests, interviews, and background checks.
• Must reside in or around the Franschhoek or Paarl area.

Special Conditions

• Must be able to work with ATG Scanner.
• Must be able to work without supervision.
• More than 18 months experience in the security industry.
• Ability to think critically and outside the box.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Friendly nature.
