Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service by warmly greeting customers and acknowledging loyalty card holders.
- Efficiently process transactions at till points, verifying prices, handling payments, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Promote Woolworths loyalty programs and available services such as utility bill payments and airtime top-ups.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and awareness of store promotions to effectively assist customers.
- Ensure till areas are clean, organized, and adherent to hygiene and safety standards.
- Minimize shrinkage by following store security policies and reporting any dishonesty promptly.
- Demonstrate punctuality and compliance with the dress code to uphold professional standards.
- Remain calm and efficient under pressure, managing stress effectively during busy periods.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with customers and team members, resolving issues promptly.
- Support shift flexibility requirements to meet store operational needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent National Qualification Framework (NQF) qualification.
- Flexibility to work various shifts to accommodate store operations.
- Basic selling skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Effective communication skills for clear interactions with customers.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service environment is advantageous.
- Attention to detail for accurate transaction processing and till operations.
- Knowledge of product range and promotional events.
- Strong personal discipline, including punctuality and adherence to the dress code.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure and manage stress.
- Honesty, reliability, and an ethical approach to minimize shrinkage and ensure accurate reporting.
