About the Position
The Child Minder plays an important role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children who become separated from their parents or guardians at municipal beaches and designated facilities.
Successful candidates will provide care, comfort and supervision to children until they are reunited with their families. The position requires patience, responsibility and a caring personality.

Successful candidates will be responsible for:
Reporting to the designated Law Enforcement Office at the beginning and end of every shift.
Remaining at the assigned beach or designated location throughout the working day unless instructed otherwise.
Setting up and dismantling shelters or tents used for child care services.
Receiving children who have become separated from their parents or guardians.
Keeping accurate registers of all children received.
Recording the names of parents, guardians and collection times.
Providing refreshments and blankets when required.
Keeping children calm, safe and comfortable while waiting for their families.
Reporting any medical emergencies immediately.
Reporting shortages of food, bedding or blankets.
Preparing meals for children accommodated at overnight facilities.
Ensuring children have clean bedding and clothing.
Escorting children safely to ablution facilities.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised child care area.
Working closely with Law Enforcement Officers and municipal officials.
Following all municipal safety procedures.
Providing excellent customer service to members of the public.
