Job Description
The Department is seeking hardworking, reliable and motivated individuals to perform general maintenance, infrastructure support, landscaping, transportation and operational duties. Successful candidates will work under supervision while ensuring that government facilities and public infrastructure remain safe, clean and well maintained.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification.
- South African citizen.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual duties.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Willingness to work outdoors where required.
- For Driver positions, a valid Code 10 (C1) driver’s licence is required.
- Relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
General Assistant
- Assist with general maintenance of government buildings and facilities.
- Load, unload and move equipment and materials.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
- Support maintenance teams with daily operational duties.
- Report damaged equipment or safety hazards.
Road Maintenance Worker
- Repair and maintain roads, sidewalks and public infrastructure.
- Clean drainage systems and road reserves.
- Assist with pothole repairs and road maintenance activities.
- Operate basic maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ensure safe working practices at all times.
Driver
- Transport employees, equipment and materials safely.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Complete vehicle logbooks accurately.
- Comply with all road traffic regulations.
